The start of a new build begins with a new gun!

Well I acquired a Savage 110 model J in 243 for a song. It has the standard 24" barrel, laminated stock and simple bolt handle. I am wanting to build a compact varmint/deer rifle keeping it in 243. So I contacted McGowan barrels and got a nice quote for Chrome molly Heavy barrel 18" long...
