Exporting a rifle stock out of America

It's not so much about saving money as getting the product I want instead of buying what I can get. How many here would want to shoot with a GRS laminated stock or an MDT? I could get an AI chassis, but I'm not a fan of their ergonomics. Currently I might be able to get a Mcmillan from...

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

I don't have personal experience with it but I know alot of people shoot it in 338LM in Denmark and are happy with it.

Exporting a rifle stock out of America

Anyone know if the laws apply to accessories such as a adjustable but stock like the tubb 4 way? If you could get a retailer with an export license to do the paperwork to get a stock out of the USA, would it be ok to bring it back to Europe in checked luggage? TSA allows stocks in checked...

TSA notice given to me about a Civil Penalty

Ok, thanks[emoji4] I guess I'll box some things up and bring the rest in my luggage. I guess the retailer decides what is milspec and what isn't? As far as stocks go, it looks possible, but not for a LRA bipod[emoji50] It's a great way to kill of exports[emoji53] If you come here, be sure...

TSA notice given to me about a Civil Penalty

Might be OT, but I'm going on my honeymoon in Florida in May, and I want to bring back some stuff to Europe when I go back. I'd like to bring back a bipod, a stock and maybe other items like it. As far as I understand the law texts, this should be legal in checked luggage? I've written and...

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

I would love that, but all we have at those ranges are falling targets. I can do it at 300m with Electronic reading, but thats about it. Best groups/stats were at 90,3, 90, 5 and 90, 7. Best overall was 90,7.

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

After going back at 100m, the final load looks like: 90, 7 grains of Norma 217 behind a 300grain Berger hybrid. CBTO.2,8285. Avg. Velocity: 2836.

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

Today I went back and shot some 4 shot groups of 89,7-90,7 of Norma 217 behind a 300grain Berger hybrid at 300m. CBTO.2,8285. Stiller tac 338 and 28" Lilja. Granted my shooting was rather lousy today, and as such I would like some guidance or interpretation on whether I should proceed based on...

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

Thank you and yes, it's at 100m. The recoil is somewhat harder than 308win, so I need to learn how to load the bipod a bit better than what I'm doing right now:o

Range report: Yesterday I went and shot 3-shot charges from 88,6-91,0 grains Norma 217 with 300gr Berger hybrids through my Stiller Tac 338 NM, 28" Lilja Barrel 10 twist. It yielded the following data measured with a Magnetospeed V2. Everything is shot at 100m: 88,6gn: 1: 2723. 2: 2724. 3...

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

It should be somewhere between 88, 6 and 90, 3, depending on whether I adjust only BA or BA and Z0. I'll look into it and post something, when I get the right load.

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

Waveslayer: You need to check out OBT and compare your barrel length with the times in MS for barrel travel time that they have. Then you try to find a load, that matches the barrel time that OBT has as a node for your barrel. You just need to have everything filled out correctly, as case...

    Atlas Bipods, what feet?

I like the spikes better than the rubber feet. I sometimes shoot on grass or soil and the spikes work great in that.

I definitely didn't like that crunching sound, but it's reasuring, that I'm not the only one with that feeling. I would love some N570, but that one is impossible to get here. It would have been one of my first choices if I could get my hands on it[emoji4] Everything else in VV is possible...

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

Thank you both for your answers. I haven't tried compressing rounds before, so I was somewhat nervous hearing the powder crunching[emoji50] It helps to know that it doesn't need to be inherently problematic. Garandman: I understand what you mean. Quickload gives alot of data and it can be a bit...

    338 Norma Mag Load Data

With Norma 217, the loads need to be compressed, to be able to get the proper velocity. I'm not too crazy about this, since I haven't done it before. Looking at the data, would you have doubts about trying it? Cartridge : .338 Norma Mag. Bullet : .338, 300, Berger...

Thank you. I went and purchased some Norma 217. It should be better in my rifle and the MRP2 will be used in 300 win mag.
