Although I really like the look of some of the lifts & knobs put on by some gunsmiths and builders I'd say the KRG Bolt Lift is pretty high on my $/gain list.
This is nothing exotic but I started my 700 5R .308 project 4-5 years ago with a fixed power SWFA scope. I've since added a Kahntrol clamp on muzzle brake, a KRG bolt lift, a few other pieces and a lot of ammo ... together we now do a pretty good job out to 900-1000 yards. I just got it back...
I started my 5R .308 project 4-5 years ago as a first step into the long range rifle arena. Out of the box it was a better shooter than I was with an affordable fixed power SWFA scope. Since then I've added a Kahntrol clamp on muzzle brake, a KRG bolt lift, a few other pieces and a lot of ammo...
I have an older (pre-threaded barrel) 700 5R .308 and I installed a big rectangular 6 bolt clamp on brake from Muzzle Brakes by Kahntrol Solutions | No Gunsmithing Muzzle Brakes, Clamp On or Threaded I was also skeptical at the clamp on installation at first but I checked the torque on the...

I think your personal goal is a good one - don't change the goal, just figure out what it takes to get there ... I'm no expert but I have about 1200 rnds thru my Remington 700 5R .308 with a SWFA scope in the last two years and I'd say if your fundamentals are solid, you have good DOPE on your...
Cremaster - You must have read incorrectly somewhere - The Last Stand target stand system retails for $39.99 per pair (not $80). Add some 1/2" rebar and some AR500 and you're good to go. They're easy to setup, adjustable to any terrain, compact to store and very durable. Look for them at Best...
Porter24, For an easy to transport and setup stand check out The Last Stands. These simple brackets let you build any sized stand out of ½” rebar and the stands can be easily broken down and moved. They’re compact, durable and easily adjusted to any terrain. Everyone’s suggestions of hanging...
The German – you have posted some good questions – here are some friendly suggestions. 1) 3/8” AR500 will be plenty fine for shooting .308 or .223 at ranges over 100 yards … or any handgun for that matter. Do NOT shoot at mild steel – it can be very dangerous. Stay away from AR500 targets...
WOW! Everyone told us that we picked a great match to enter as our first and they were right. Joe, Marcus and all the ROs and Scorers put a lot of work into this and it showed - thank you. Squad 4 was awesome - we saw some great shooters, got a lot of help, learned a ton and met some great...
I picked up 1000 rds of 175 SMK .308 this weekend while I was in Phoenix - ordered on 9/5, picked up on 11/8 - all good - thanks Southwest, see you at Rockcastle in January! Chris
