Just curious as to why I don't see more mention of Rock River rifles here on The Hide. My first AR was a Rock River and I now have them in several calibers. (I also have other brands, eg. Seekins 6.5, Ray-Vin .17 HMR, And. 6.5GR etc. that I shoot...
I have both a 9mm and .45 Shield, the original versions, and like and shoot them well. I put an Apex trigger in the 9 and appreciate the improvement. I feel they are great carry pistols. I recently got a Sig 365 and have been shooting/carrying it. Even though its smaller with a greater capacity...
I have a Ray-Vin .17HMR AR upper on an RRA lower that I use on prairie dogs (I shoot suppressed) that is quite accurate and reliable. Comes with 14 round mags. It's my "starter" rifle on any new dog town. It's a side charge action which I like.
I have a J Allen chassis that I use in matches and although heavy, I really like it. I recently got an Ingenuity rail system for it and it bolted in and fit like a glove. I went to their website to explore getting another one of their chassis and found their "Gumball" scheme to be rather...
I have several .22 pistols, of which the CZ Kadet is my favorite for plinking etc., but if I'm going to carry one it is always the S/W 43C Air Frame revolver. It fits in the same Bullard holster as my S/W 340, very light and comfortable, no jams or misfires and very accurate (with practice).
Rifles Only has offered high angle classes in CO in the past during the summer months. I have never been to that particular class, but have been to the PRS1/PRS2 week long class and it was great!
Many years ago it was somewhat popular to use rubber cement to bed both the base/rail to the action as well as the rings. I have used it to bed a rail on a Rem 700 with good success (although it probably wasn't needed). I have never felt the need to bed or use adhesive on my rings but YMMV.
Another GAP fan here. Great people, innovative, great customer service and most of the +/- 20 gunsmiths compete/shoot in one shooting sport or another, especially PRS. Fortunately they are local to me.
I have both a Griffin Optimus and a Griffin Optimus Micro, both user servicable. The Micro is .223 rated. I use the Micro on my Vudoo and the optimus on a .223 trainer (it can be used on up to a .300WM or configured for a 9mm pistol as it has 3 different muzzle plates, .22, .30 and 9mm. I clean...
I have had a Vudoo in the Grayboe adjustable stock since January and shoot it off my back deck almost daily. I probably have 15 different rear bags including both you mentioned, and the full sized Gamechanger in waxed canvas gets used the most (you might consider the sticky hybrid if you intend...
