I much prefer the 123 ELD's. Can be pushed just as fast and have a higher BC

Hunting & Fishing 260 rem and black bear? **Update w/ Pic**

Of the 3 you are looking I would go with the 140gr Gameking. Its' reduced velocity will allow it to hold together better. And if your shots are inside 50 yards group size wont be much of an issue, unless it is grouping huge.

Hunting & Fishing 260 rem and black bear? **Update w/ Pic**

Are you shooting over bait or at distance. The .260 will do it for sure. However if you are up close and impact speeds are high I would go with a stouter bullet. If you clip a shoulder with a 120gr BT doing 3000fps you may not be impressed with the performance.

Hunting & Fishing 6.5 Creedmoor for hunting

Have only shot 1 animal with a Creed and it was an antelope at 347yds with the Hornady 143gr ELD-X Factory load. I have however shot tonnes of other animals with various .260 Rems and 6.5 Swedes. Anywhere from 20 to about 500. I shot a bull elk at 265 with a 120gr TSX that has a muzzle velocity...

    6.5 Help

When I was running a stock Rem mag box I was able to get 140 Amax and 139gr Scenars to shoot very well in my 260AI. You are robbing the potential of that round though by seating them deep. You may want to push the 120-130 class instead so you don't take up as much case space? The 120-123's will...

    The Ultimate Hunter training program!!!

You sure about the elevation gain requirement? Trying to find a spot with an elevation gain of 2500ft can be pretty challenging or are you suggesting using a treadmill?

Cake and eat it too??? Hunting and Tactical rifle all in one, sorta!

I'm pretty much doing the same thing. Mine won't be as light but light enough. 700 action that will bounce between an XLR stock for matches and a Rem LTR stock for hunting. 22" PROOF barrel chambered in .260 rem

    260 ackley loads

My go to powder is H4350. If I have lots on hand I will just load and shoot as other have said accuracy is great. Since it is hard to get right now I've been using 14gr of Unique and cream of wheat to form brass. Right now I'm using 136gr Lapua Scenar-L's and 45.6gr of H4350 for 2950fps

Range Report Realistic Velocity from 20 inch barrel

20" Factory AIAW and shooting factory Lapua 170gr Lockcbase was averaging 2600fps for the slower rifles and as high as 2650fps on the faster ones. Just finished experimenting with cutting the barrel down and adding a Jet-z suppressor and avg still at 2561fps with a 16" barrel. Will have to hook...

Hunting & Fishing 7mm Mag for moose?

My crew and I have shot moose with: .260Rem 6.5x55's 7mm Rem Mag .308 Win's .300 Win Mag .325WSM They all worked well. The only thing would be to be careful with trying to break shoulders unless you have a well constructed bullet and that goes for any of them.
