Holy cow! I thought this thread was long gone again! Nice shooting Ryan. Well my factory rig is done for, only thing left is the action. I put a new manners stock and a krieger barrel on it so my factory barrel entries will have to end at a .495 average for 30. I think that was round 3 of the...
[/IMG] Here's my last 20 shots at 50 yds, with my factory barrel, and factory trigger cz vpt 455. If your accuracy expectations are better than this, don't buy a factory rifle!
1/4 horse, sorry but your response is not that clear. Can anyone tell me whitch rifles in the 50 yd challenge are factory barreled, also the cost of that rifle. It's very much like round 4 in the bolt gun section, where moboost put a price limit on a factory rig. Here's an example a sako is a...
Quarter horse, (not trying to derail the thread) but since you mentioned the 6x5 challenge, whitch entries are factory barrels? Sorry for the newb question but I'm just getting started and would like to know where I stand w my cz vpt oem barrel. Thanks lazer
I'm w jw on this one, accuracy, reliably, and versatility w different load combos is by far superior in a bolt gun w the blackout. Just to get the ar to cycle reliably can be a bit of a headache, (look at the blackout forums). Bolt is best way to go w the black. The bolt will be quieter in...
Mo is right your rifle doesn't normally shoot .300s. Especially 5 shot groups. But if you want to figure out what your problem is, get a suppressor wrap, shoot 3, 5 shot groups w the can and 3, 5 shot groups without the can post the picks and let's see. You can never come to any conclusion with...
[/IMG Hey kid, I'm just getting started with my cz vpt 22lr w a 3/9 hawke scope, here's my groups from yesterday at 50 yds prone. It's a stock rifle but had barrel cut to 16in, form 1 suppressor and eley black box ammo. I just put my knightforce on today to give it another try. But I believe...
Rolling thunder, in my opinion I believe the .233 is the easiest to suppress in the .224 caliber. Isn't it the one with least powder w a .224 od? You have a lot of technical info in your post but your 1st sentence makes me wonder how much expierience you have in the suppression game?
Bob, if you want to do better w that rifle you need to do 2 things, 1st get rid of the match kings and go w something like barts 52 or a Berger the jacket on the matchking is your first killer 2nd when you do load development do 5 shot groups, as you have seen your results w 3 shot groups will...
Rolling thunder, my experience is different than yours on end cap swapping. I have several cans and do a lot of tinkering. To my ear and with hundreds maybe thousands of rounds, my best can for .223 has a .344 bore through the baffles and a .264 hole in the end cap, it also has more internal...
Awsome group, shooter, gun, load and action! But how are you narrowing that group down to praising only one variable? In my opinion the action would be one of the last variables as far as putting all variables in order of importance when wanting very tight groups at any range. Please explain?
Seuss, charger, you are both right in a way. Seuss, I like the pics of your cans the quality looks good. Yes your can will have to be quieter than the best by about 2 decibels at least and I think it will sell, at least it would to me, I will pay 200$ more for less sound that's the game. And...
I like it. Moboost what do u think about my scope adjusting problems that I talked about. 29 aholic- ur screwed I have a garage built by a no name builder, kreiger 223 that is gonna kick ass in round 5!
That sounds like fun, only problem would be adjusting your scope to center after shooting the groups. Then remembering to adjust it back before you go and try again? Also the target you are showing would need one more big target in the center, or am I missing something?
Seriously, if the goal is to get more participation go with 4 groups of 5 shots. In my opinion it accomplishes two things, it is a low enough shot count to antagonize the 3 shot guys yet it is still enough shots to prove consistency in rifle, shooter, and load. It is easy on the wallet for...
Hey bob, Iv got some newbie questions. I have been following your post lately and your love for Robert gradious, w that being said your 3 shot groups you have posted from both your gradious builds and your factory tube are pretty well identical, considering there has not been a whole lot of...
