On a different occasion about 4 years ago I sent a barrel to a gunsmith to have rechambered from a 30x47 to a 308 so he ordered a reamer from PTG.
He claimed the reamer shattered during the process. Needless to say the barrel was destroyed.
Then it went into battle zone mode between the smith...
Guys please be aware of PTG trying to sell fake vintage rifle parts.

What was the purpose of the left side feed rail being cut back on the Original M40?
Anyone have a picture of what it looks like?
I just found out on the facebook page it was cut back due to rounds not going into the magazine box properly.
Well we all have our opinions don’t we?
I know and have plenty of experience with that type of base as well as many others.
I have never heard of anyone having issues with it.

I’m not in a combat situation so that probably make a difference. js
He did confirm 40x’s were the original prototype actions and sporter weight barrels. He stated it just a few days ago on the Facebook M40 Enthusiasts page !
