< $1500 "just works" bolt action

I just put a bolt gun together with very similar goals. I did a lot of research and saving:) Here's what I came up with. Savage model 11 hog hunter in .308, 20" medium contour threaded barrel, swfa 3x15 scope, Burris two piece mount, Burris extreme tactical rings, mountain shooter sling, Harris...

Rifle Scopes Secondary Optics On A Bolt Action Rifle?

I have a savage hog hunter with a swfa 3x15. The iron sights make for an excellent secondary sight.

Rifle Scopes Riddle me this on two shooters one rifle instruction

Sure, adjust the scope to hit 4 mils high. Problem solved.

Rifle Scopes Scope Clearance: Barely Enough Room for a $1 Bill?

Is this a serious question from the op? Did it really spark any debate? Op, if the scope lines up with or eye, ur good! If not, then you need to build up the stock, restock, or change rings.

Rifle Scopes Scope options for Lt Tactical/Hunting 3-15x

I couldn't give you a comparison between the glass in the 3x15 and anything else in the class. This is the best glass I have owned. I think it better than the Burris hunting scope on my .243 and better than my brothers Nikon. But with the great turrets, glass, warranty, reputation, I don't think...

    Rifle sling recommendations

Ordered a Mountain Shooter sling from Triad. I really like it so far. It is very basic, light weigh, strong, has an arm loop to help steady the rifle, and its made in the U.S.

Does Sniper's Hide really need the constant flow of LE bashing?

If Maggot is on the verge of being permanently banned for posting " off topic b.s.", then I'm guessing a lot of other people are too. Personally I think the op is a bit sensative, as I don't see much L.E. bashing going on around here at all. Even the quotes the op posted I didn't take as L.E...

    Show Your Hunting Rifles!

Here is one of mine. 1974 Weatherby Vanguard, 24" barrel chambered in .243.http://s42.photobucket.com/user/valkyries243/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140910_173633-1_zps90723f76.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1

Rifle Scopes Vortex Viper PST vs SWFA SS 3-15x

Nope the swfa is built like a tank. I have never owned a vortex scope and as long as swfa's optics are around the price (or slightly cheaper), I never will. I have been 100% happy with swfa's service and the 3x15.

Reworked Hog Hunter, I like the way it looks now

Looks good, I like it. I just picked up a hog hunter and a swfa 3-15. Down the the road I'll be going the same route with an aftermarket stock and bm. I look forward to your range report.

    Malware?

Saw this today for the first time. Took me a few minutes to figure out how to get around it. Glad to see I'm not the only one having this issue.

Rifle Scopes SWFA 3-15x42 vs 5-20x50

I have had the swfa 3x15 for about a week now. I am really impressed with it. I will be putting it on Savage 11 hog hunter, .308, with a 20" barrel this weekend(hopefully). While I havent had the chance shoot with it yet, my initial impressions are that it is a quality scope. The turrets are...

Rifle Scopes My SS 3-15 failure -- Missing thread ?

I followed the thread very closely at first because I'm on the verge of buying the 3x15. If I remember right four people came forward who had the same issue as the op. There were also people saying they had used theirs with zero problems even under hard use. I think swfa offered to replace the...

Rifle Scopes My SS 3-15 failure -- Missing thread ?

If I remember right an argument broke out towards the end of the thread. Redneckbmxr and others started to argue back and forth. I didn't follow the thread after that but my guess is the forum rules were not being followed, so the thread was deleted. Too bad that a few people with the maturity...

    Feeding reliability with various actions

Try a Howa action. I have one that's over 40 years old, zero problems. Pull the bolt all the way back, then firmly all the way forward. Zero problems.

Rifle Scopes 308 carbine scope *UPDATED OP*

I've also been planning to build a .308 carbine and have been looking at the SWFA 3x9 and 3x15. Might be worth a look, solid warranty and good reputation ( at least for the 3x9).
