This is correct normally . Typically this is not the type of barrel you want on a precision rig. But if they managed to make a precision barrel (.5 Moa) with combat barrel features I understand the hype.
Its definitely not common but FN SPRs were crome lined and those routinely shot half moa and the reports are these do as well. I know its apples to oranges comparing a bolt to a semi but highly accurate crome lined barrels at least do seem feasible. Im in the same boat as you, if it does shoot...
2011s can be field reliable, just costs a hell of a lot more money to get there. Shot a few higher end models and seen how hard an atlas can run I decided to get my own. Prodigy’s are a platform that needs to be built on. I’d swap out the mim parts and throw in an egw ignition kit as well.
The new Atlas definitely makes the $6500 more palatable but the mrgg will most likely be in the $5500 range from what i'm hearing. It still better shoot half moa and be dead nuts reliable or I'll just get an LMT with a Bartlein barrel. Regardless the custom 2011/1911 game makes expensive guns...
Holding off to buy a large frame gasser in 6.5 until this is released. Would be nice to get the MRGG-S with a MRGG-A upper to go along with it. My new Atlas will have to tide me over until then. Hopefully we see it in next year or so but it'll probably be 2-3 years if I had to guess.
They got a 20 inch version coming out. Thats the one i'd get if I go that route. A 14.5 would be fun to play around with but not what i'm looking for at the moment.
Primarily long range target shooting 800-1200 mostly maybe will stretch it out a bit farther than that. I have 2 other large frame gassers. One being a scar 17s and an 18inch adm UIC-10 in 308. Just looking for something thats a little more precise and shoots flatter. The ADM shoots roughly...
I'm looking to buy a top end gas gun in 6.5 creedmoor and pair it with a ZCO 4-20 but I can't decide if I should just put in an order for a jp lrp-07 with a proof barrel or wait and see if the geissele is actually going to match the crazy hype it has. Normally Id just buy the JP but it looks...
PWS just announced their new URX rifle. Looks like an interesting concept if it proves to be as reliable and accurate as they claim. PWS makes quality products so I have hope for this one
Hopefully the release of the 223 ammo goes well, and that technology is brought into other calibers like 308 and 6.5 creedmoor. Will be keeping an eye on it to try it out for sure.
With regards to the Leonidas series of cartridges, is it safe to assume they are all using the same parent case? What kinda of velocities are you trying to achieve with say the 338 Leonids with a 285 badlands solid? It’s been great watching this project grow!
In that comparison video he says he was using hornady brass in the prc and that it pressured out earlier than the 300 win mag. Im sure if he used a tougher brass like adg he could have run the prc faster and it would have outperformed the win mag.
If I had to pick one or the other I would also pick the bullet with the greatest supersonic range. I would be willing to give up a little for a bullet that transitions well though.
Out of curiosity what 30cal solids best take advantage of the 300 Norma and 1-7 twist barrels? Also is it safe to assume these will be single feed or will the magazines be longer than the standard CIP mags?
I run first lite base layers and kuiu for insulation and outerwear. Most agree first lite has the best base layers. Where Sitka has kuiu beat is for tree stand hunting where there is minimal movement. I have a feeling this will change in the next few years as kuiu is starting to add more range...
I have the 18inch 6.5 creedmoor. The ambi controls are very nice and the platform performs well. I’ve fired ~200 rounds of 147 eld-m with no issues including no popped primers or pressure signs which is a concern with 6.5 creed gassers. It shoots roughly .8-.9 Moa depending on the day. I’ve...
It might not be a bad idea to wait and see what ever becomes of the 8.6 creedmoor that should be released at Shot. 300+ grain subs and 150 grainers at 2500 out of a 12.5 inch barrel sounds appealing.
