We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
That's almost exactly what I initially thought about. The only exception would be that I would use a large straw or tube, i.e. a section of a giant pixie stick, to give enough room to drop the lock pin out if necessary, but fill the void as much as possible. If I find the hole to be a problem...
I've been waiting for Magpul to do this for a long time. There are other manufacturers that make similar products, but not at this price point. (that I'm aware of) The rattle doesn't bother me and the angle of the bag rider is about the same as a regular hunting stock.
You’re not alone. I put one on my turkey shotgun (wrapped Rem. 1100M) and liked it so much I am putting one on my Mossberg 500 and my Win. M94 in 45 Colt. The Winchester is going to make a really nice short-range deer/pig popper.
My money is on a defect in the barrel steel. That putting looks awfully deep and awfully localized. Too much so IMO to have been caused by rust, particularly since it’s a stainless barrel. The last photo is particularly suspicious. Look at the corner where the land meets the groove and you’ll...
Lookin’ good! I had to correct some sapwood on the stock of my Win. 94 AE and wound up using that same ratio but with red mahogany instead of gunstock.
Brown Acraglass is probably your best bet for that. Tung oil if that’s what you like, but I prefer something a bit more durable, like Brownells’ Acra-Coat for Wood. It also looks like you have a bit more wood on one side of that fore end than the other, so you can still take a little off if...
Look to Eklind and Bondhus for US made allen wrenches. If you like the Snap On screwdrivers, look at Williams Industrial Tools (made by Snap On)This is one area that I wouldn't necessarily restrict my choices to made in USA. I really like my Felo drivers and they make excellent allen wrenches as...
My first firearm was a Marlin model 60 that I bought with my paper route money for $69.99 at Walmart. I had to have my dad do the paperwork for me because I was 15 at the time. The first firearm I was given was my dad’s Winchester M94 when I was 16. My first handgun was a Ruger Vaquero 5.5”...
Never had a scope as a kid. In fact, I didn’t have one until I was 26. I bought a Leupold Vari-X II, 3-9x50 for my new Sig SHR 970 in 270 Win. I still have them both.
