froglube and tw25b not that great?

Then maybe there's something to it, I don't really give enough of a shit to keep constant tabs on things. Was either '11 or '12 that the NSN was rescinded, that was the last I looked into it. Know it works pretty well in some automotive applications. I don't care if people use froglube...

froglube and tw25b not that great?

I know it very well. They're based here in MD not more than 40 minutes away from me. Won't use the stuff. MSP (Maryland State Police) WAS using it, emphasis on was. My 'smith can recount a lot of firsthand horror experiences with it. Of note, after 20-something years of off/on testing - it's...

    Challenge me with your .223!

I can only add this one single picture - as the rifle has now been converted to a different caliber. This 5-shot string was out of my Savage 10FP 24" .223, only modification was a Bell & Carlson Medalist A2 stock and Glade's Armory bolt handle. Load was 25.1gr of H335 under 69gr Nosler Custom...

froglube and tw25b not that great?

Been using Slip2000 for the past 6 years, hasn't let me down, hasn't gummed up any of my guns. I don't bother wiping it off, apply a few drops and let it eat. BCG's stay wet and happy, even after a nice range day with round counts approaching 1500 rounds. Carbon and fouling wipe off pretty...

Brass shoulder rings after firing (Sav LRP 260)

Possibly reamer chatter?? If it's a factory barrel, it's worth sending it in and having Savage make it right. Lapua's 260 brass ain't exactly cheap, and I'd be willing to bet those machining marks aren't going to be beneficial to long case life.

New X-Ray Chassis from KRG-now shipping!

As a Savage owner, these threads make me sad. Not a lot of options for us.

mossberg mvp rifle in 556 cal

Only shot one, 18.5" Predator laminated stock that a friend bought new. Action was a bit stiff, trigger was ho-hum, was a bit finicky on feeding from the mag at first. But after 2 range trips it started breaking in. Accuracy wasn't bad with 55gr and 62gr rounds.

    Question about 45 ACP loads

Once you've sorted thru a few thousand, your eye's will be able to pick out the small vs. the large. My press is set up for LPP, so I don't bother with the SPP .45's.

    Remington 700 long range questions

I'd probably start with getting the action trued - since Remington does seem to have some variation from time to time. Although in all honesty, I'd shoot the sumbitch first and see if there's any short-comings in the base rifle that would be worth addressing.

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

Someone may make one in those types of finish, but so far all I've seen is the standard black anodized finish. If nothing else, you can always have one sent out to be refinished in something that suits your rifle.

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

I watched Midway for nearly 3 months, the Savage S/A metal was out of stock and overdue for months. Went with atlasworxs, had it in less than 5 days (no bullshitting).

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

After 2 months and not getting a call-back or a straight yes or no answer from PTG, I wrote them off. They may make a great piece of gear, but it does no one any good if you have to wait months for it to ship - especially if you're told it's in stock at the time you placed your order.

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

Simply because getting my stock inletted for the Atlasworxs metal was a bit more involving than I thought it'd be. Colin was nice enough to send me the dfx file for the metal, but no one locally had a CNC that'd fit my stock. Wound up doing the work myself by hand mostly. Lots of people...

Best 700 SA BDL detachable mag system?

Low-end, Atlasworxs ($150-$170). Little higher, CDi ($200). Even higher, Badger (definitely not $200 ;) ). I was on a tight budget and went with Atlasworxs, no real complaints. But if I had to do it all over again, I'd lean towards CDi.

    PTG bottom metal for Savage

Agreed. They have a hell of a price-point - it's why I was interested at first, but after waiting and waiting and not getting any answers, it doesn't fill you with confidence. Picked up a Atlasworxs unit for not that much more. I'll be buying one of their bolt heads (whenever they come back in...

    PTG bottom metal for Savage

Had planned on getting one for my Model 10FP, but after PTG told me they'd call me back after checking availability in the warehouse (4 weeks ago, no call yet), I said screw it and picked up some metal from another manufacturer.

They lose their purpose for existing, and for fundraising. Granted, they'll always be another piece of shit out there that dreams of a new way to screw over gun-owners, so the NRA will never really be a thing of the past.

    Surefire Mags?

I've got 3, 2 of them have run like clockwork. The 3rd has had issues with follower tilt. Sucks to be in MD, cause with our mag laws/limit - pretty much means I'm S.O.L. for the one that doesn't always act right. I could send it out, but not so sure if I could legally receive it back in MD.
