Savage .22LR in boyds stock. Walmart. Any experience?

Waterville, Maine. The Model is BVNSXP-SR. UPC 0062654207204. It is exactly like the gun pictured in this thread. I paid $453 plus tax on 2/22/2023.

Savage .22LR in boyds stock. Walmart. Any experience?

I just got one of these a couple days ago. I haven't shot it yet but I love the features. As far as I know there is no cheaper target .22 rifle that has an adjustable stock. I love the features of this gun! This model is not in the 2023 Savage catalog, I haven't seen one anywhere but Walmart.

I have no idea, sorry. On their website they still mention the Thursday afternoon 600 yard practice sessions. Apparently, the only other time 600 yard shooting is done is when there is a match. Shooting on Thursday afternoons only didn't work for me so I didn't complete the membership...

Gunsmithing Educate me on the remington 788 action.

I had several 788's over the years, especially in 22-250, and loved them. I remember when they cost under $100 new. They had 9 rear locking lugs and at the time were said to have the fastest lock time of any centerfire rifle on the market. They would outshoot almost anything, and half MOA in...

I'm in central Maine. MikeT: There is a 600 yard range in Hampden (near Bangor). Google: Hampden Rifle and Pistol Club. Last summer they were allowing members to shoot at the 600 yard range on Thursday afternoons during match practice only, taking turns tending the target pit. There was...

    Hello from Maine

Hi Eblade and Starbuck, There's a 600 yard range in Hampden, Hampden Rifle & Pistol Club, just Google the name and it'll pop right up. It's also limited access. Last I knew (last summer) it was only open during match practice on Thursday afternoons, which didn't work for me. They use a pit...

Rifle Scopes Looking for some info on a Shepherd scope

Oh, another thing, you can sight Shepherds in with one shot, but plan on about 3, lol. If you're concerned about being on paper with your first shot you can do this at 25 or 50 yards, then repeat at 100. For a better description of this process, which has not changed, see their website: THE...

Rifle Scopes Looking for some info on a Shepherd scope

This is an older thread but I may still be able confuse you further, lol. Back in the day, 25 years ago, when I was using Shepherds, they had a 3-9x40 called the All-Arounder. If I recall correctly, one of the knobs on the scope would switch the reticle pattern to either the P1, P2, or P3...

    Hello from Maine

I've enjoyed this site for years but never joined. I don't know of any place in Maine where I can shoot beyond 600 yards, and that's at a gun club. There's nothing wrong with shooting 600 yards, it's a lot of fun, and there are ways to make it more interesting if it gets too easy or boring...
