I'm not sure EchoBrovo, maybe 50/50. I sewed everything but the cordura on with a regular sewing machine. For the cordura skids I used a heavy duty machine with thread that would be too heavy to run through a portable machine. You might run into trouble where you are trying to sew multiple...
Tickled Pink, I have no idea what the weight is. I haven't put it on the scales. Doesn't feel heavy to me. Lighter than my M40A5 :) A buddy of mine ordered a 16" OBR the beginning of August. He wanted something light and wasn't concerned about the lose of velocity. Apparently orders being...
Haha not 25 yards.
I used duracoat. Pretty fun to shoot. Well worth the wait. They sent an email out that you should have gotten a few weeks ago that their lead times should be much quicker due to making their own barrels now or something.
There is a shop outside of Bragg that gets them in
Does it have the correct screw holding the PRS stock on the tube? The Magpul screw is shorter than a milspec screw. If you use a milspec screw it will not allow the buffer to travel fully.
Finally finished this thing a few weeks ago. I have since, thinned out the jute to about half of what is pictured and trimmed the length of the strands. Decided to do a hood instead of the boonie.
not sure. I was going to take a straight edge to the range the next time and see what is moving. Whatever is moving it is affecting the POI drastically.
Been meaning to post some pictures of my OBR. This thing is a tack driver. Has Larue QD mount for the Leupold MKIV ER/T 6.5-20X50mm mils/mils, a Larue/Harris bipod, Troy flip up sights, Aimpoint micro with custom mount, Magpul grip and PRS stock.
That's the number. Maybe the phone company is screwed up there today. Still for the life of me can't figure out why it would be doing this. What sucks is I'm going out of town today for a few weeks and would have liked to get it in the mail today.
Hey guys I'm having a strange issue with my GAP M40A5. If it sits out in the sun for a while or after shooting anywhere from 50-100 rounds on a warm day the barrel, where it meets the end of the stock starts turning to the right. The gap gets tighter on that side. I was at a 3 day training class...
Been busy and haven't had a lot of time to work on this for a while. Finished the pant the other day. I'll post some pics of the finished pants when I get time. In the meanwhile here are some pics of them almost finished. I decided to make them so that they have removable padding. Also, vented...
You can get that padding at walley world. I'm going to do the legs of the pants with removable pads. I have some closed cell foam I got from McMaster Carr for something else that will work really well for the knees. When I get a chance I'll take a pic of my big sewing machine for ya.
You...
wilwith, I've broken a few needles as well. The Adler (model 205-374), being a machine to sew leather up to 3/4" thick, uses 794 series needles, which are about 3" long. I'm using a #110 needle for #90 thread, so the needle is very thin. The machines they use to sew awnings would work better...
Got the front skid done last night. Site won't let me upload any more photos LOL Says I'm over my quota. So here are some links if you want to look.
decided to put some padding on the chest. Just used that rubberized shelf liner. Also, helped with pulling stitches down below surface for...
I haven't used them (unless absolutely no one has what I need) since they quit offering dealer prices. Then started shipping with ups via usps which you can't track on the ups tracking # they give you. Oh, and what the hell is up with Larry using "that's the way it is" He couldn't come up with...
Looks great Wilwith. Looks like you found some grosgrain. I like the strips you put it. Better for attaching netting or paracord.
No, I'm not a haberdasher (my grandfather was an English tailor though, worked for Henry Poole and Co before WWII). I come from the leather end. The Adler...
