    Nightforce NX8 1-8x24mm F1 - ZeroStop - .2MRAD - FC-Mil Reticle $1450

This optic is basically "like new". It was mounted to a rifle that I never used much, and have since sold. I'm not looking for any trades. Will ship anywhere in the US. Paypal preferred. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them.

Clamp on Muzzle Brake. Who's got one and what are your thoughts?

I definitely don't have to have one. I didn't even know they existed until just recently so I wanted to find out more about them. I figured if they reduce recoil and help the shooter maintain a visual on their target all while not causing any accuracy issues then why not go with clamp on style?

Clamp on Muzzle Brake. Who's got one and what are your thoughts?

I know nothing of the muzzle brake world, so I'm in the process of researching. I've stumbled onto clamp on style brakes, and I would love to get some feedback from someone that owns one or has tried one.

Gunsmithing Looking to have a Muzzle Brake installed on my Rem WM - Utah area?

I have a Remington 700 .300 Win Mag that I would like to have a muzzle brake installed on. I would need the barrel threaded and the brake added. My current rifle has a medium or possibly a light barrel (not sure), and I was wondering if I got a brake for the current barrel would that same...

Congrats on the new offspring! - Is that a suppressor on there? I keep seeing similar things on the end of barrels. Is it a suppressor with some sort of cover over it?

    precision rifles... show em

Thank you for the reply! So far I haven't had enough time behind the rifle to get a sense of the accuracy. I'm doing load development so I've had some tight groups and some not so tight groups. haha - It's good to know what the rings are. I should have asked when they put them on, but at the...

    precision rifles... show em

Yeah I'd rather not purchase new rings and base if I can help it, but if the one's that the gun store put on when I bought the gun are junk, then I have no problem upgrading them. But yeah, if I could spend that money somewhere else like on reloading supplies that would be awesome. Here are a...

    precision rifles... show em

Toni, it's getting there. I'm in load development right now. So far I've seen some pretty awesome groups ranging from 1.5" to 5/8" - I need to get new rings and scope base because I don't even know what's on it. When I bought the original gun the local shop put the current rings and base on it...

Okay, thank you for the resources!

How to "Work up a load"?

That's great to know. I am working on a 300 win mag load for long range precision out to 1000 yards. I am using the Hornady A-Max 208GR Bullets. The powder I'm using is Winchester 780 Supreme.

How to "Work up a load"?

I understand that it is extremely recommended to "work" up loads when reloading. I am new to reloading and just want to see if anyone can clarify what "working up" would be defined as? Would I take the low average of multiple sources of a load and then back that off 2 grains, 5 grains...

Setting up a Vortex Viper HS LR - Anyone familiar with these or turret systems in general?

So I just mounted my new Vortex Viper HS LR and took it out to zero it. Unfortunately for me, it was super windy, but anyway I have a question with how far the vertical turret should be raised (twisted up) when zeroing for 100 yards? I had to raise mine a full revolution or more from the...

Help me! 7mm Mag vs. .300 Win Mag?

I want to build a long range rifle that I will use for both target shooting and hunting of deer, elk, etc. I would like to build off the Remington 700 model and drop it into a Whiskey 3 chassis. What are your opinions of the 7mm Rem Mag vs. the .300 Win Mag? Also, could anyone point...

Is this a good buy for the price???

I do a lot of hunting. Recently I shot a Desert Bighorn sheep. I used a Gunwerks rifle that used a 6.5x.284 Norma round and it was awesome. I shot my sheep from 450yrds away and it was dead immediately. I'm not looking to hunt animals at a 1000 yards, but I want a gun that is capable of doing...

Is this a good buy for the price???

This is all great information. I've been thinking about building something off of the Remington 700 platform. I would love a 1000 yard gun that still has some punch when it hits its target. Any recommendation on caliber, scope, etc, with the goal in mind of keeping it around or under $2000.00?

Is this a good buy for the price???

Above is the setup in question. I have spoken with the owner and he says he can sell the package for $2250.00 (minus the pelican case). He mentioned the rifle has had about 320 rounds down the barrel, 100 of which were special barrel break in rounds (which I know nothing about). So, would...

Need Build Advice - Remington 700

Yeah, I'm actually checking the local gun listings and i'm finding Remington 700 .308's ranging from $650 to $1100 so perhaps I'll just get a complete gun and switch the stocks.

Need Build Advice - Remington 700

Okay, I'm really liking that idea. I'll have to check out how much a barreled action is going to run me. Thanks everyone for all the input, especially you strike33.

Need Build Advice - Remington 700

Oh! That sounds like a great idea. If I buy a barreled action will I be able to drop it into the W3 Chassis and be good to go, or will I still need a gunsmith?
