I'm a rather new shooter to precision shooting. I also lurk this site a lot. I'm trying to understand why one would want to take bolt-action over semi-automatic for a .308 WIN gun. For other calibers such as .338 lapua, .300 WSM, etc, it would be understandable. But for shooting under 1000...
I have some stupid on and off relationship with the M14. It just looks beautiful, simplicity in its design. I decided to get over it and actually buy one custom made with sub-moa accuracy (for long range shooting). I have looked into a lot of details, but there aren't that many people who...
I've always wondered what the most perfect equipment would be for the bullet to perfectly strike a target in one hit from an unknown distance, unknown wind, and etc. It's very impressive for me to watch shooters get the first shot off on a target at 800+ yards and perfectly hit it. How would...
The purpose of the AR is for home-defense/plinking. It's a LWRC M6A2 IC SPR. I searched using the forum search button, but couldn't find anything good for the past 4-5 pages. I also have an eotech on hand, but did not want to get the magnifier on top of it, as it's too heavy and has shitty...
Eh, it was just something I came up in about 2 seconds, I've got about 50 comments on how retarded my screen-name is, I understand. And thanks for the tips, great help.
Are there any must read books before I start reloading? I'm a beginner to this and I want to make sure I get everything right. I heard the lyman manual is a great place to start reloading. Any good forum posts + books you guys can recommend?
I asked for long range factory rounds. Maybe I did ask the question wrong, and thanks for the clarification. I'm actually starting to look into hand loading right now, and going to look to factory rounds when I first get the gun to find out what type of bullet it likes.
Oh god, they're very expensive though. I think the minimum I'd spend out of a precision rifle is $1 per shot, maximum $2. I should actually start looking into hand loading.
I'm currently looking into long range factory .308 bullets, and I'm specifically interested in the hornady 178 grain round. What type of bullets do you use out of a 20" or greater length barrel? I'm planning to use it in my future AI AXMC, and I really don't know that many precision/long...
Haha, yes. Being young while making money is great. Only thing is that the job is stressful, which is why I started shooting. I'm looking into reloading gear, never tried reloading and I'm living in an apartment right now, not sure if I can set up space. Thanks for the info!
I guess. Maybe after the weather gets better. I was planning to go with them with my SCAR but my scope/mount didn't come early enough for the NF. Do you know any BLM land that's good for shooting in NJ?
Yeah, cherry ridge is 300 yards. Planning to drive to PA for LR shooting. It's what a bunch of friends do about every 2 weeks for some 1000 yard range. I'm gonna need to talk to them about it, but it'll be fun.
