This will vary because of the ballistics of the bullet and velocity but my Remington 700 LTR with a 20" barrel and 2540 velocity and Sierra 175 gr Matchking needs 43 MOA Elevation to reach 1000 yards. If you don't have that much elevation available in your scope, get the 20 MOA mount. I use a standard mount but only shoot to 700 yards.

20MOA is never the wrong answer. With a S&B 5x25 you could actually run 40-45MOA of decline.

Get the 20 moa if it's not too much of a hassle, you may never use it, but better to have it and not need it than to not have it when you need it.
