Re: 1-12 twist bullet for 600

I have had some good results with the Berger 60 grain FB Varmint bullets. They also say the 64 grain works on a 12tw as well but haven't tried those yet. I have shot steel out to 500 with these.

Re: 1-12 twist bullet for 600

I use 60 gr v-max (flat base) in a 1 in 12 - good at 500 and not key holing at 600 but the groups really open up - so I would say the best compromise would be 60-62 grain boat tail otherwise 55gr still works for about 1/2 price of the 60 gr

I have a Rem 700 SPS Varmint 1 in 12 also. I have reloaded many many combos, but I have settled with Sierra 53gr Mking, 26gr Varget or 25.5gr IMR 4064 for paper OR Sierra 55gr Spitzer with same combo. Win brass & primers. Around .005-.010 jump. Flat base bullets only! Rifle won't shoot boattails. I have same rifle in 243 Win and it hates boattails also.
