I have been reloading .223 for some time now. I just got a 308 in a 1-12 twist. I was wondering what bullet weights are good for it. I like the hornady v-max for target shooting. Will this handle and stabelize the 110g? And possibly up to 168g?
Yes. the slower the twist, the more difficulty you will have stabilizing heavier bullets. Lighter bullets are not a problem. 110's are very light and will fly fast, so 1:12 twist is plenty. Not sure if it's ideal, though. the gun will probably like the 140-168grain range stuff a little better, I would think.
