Rifle Scopes 1-4x24 recommendations

Looking to get a decent close to 600-800 yard optic. Was thinking of a Trijicon accupoint, Horus Talon, or Vortex Viper... I dont have experience with any of these optics, so would appreciate to hear from others with such experience... or other suggestions. This is for my armalite ar-10. Im looking in the $500-800 range...

Vortex or the SWFA SS 1-4.

However, there are a BUNCH of 1-6x optics about to hit the market. Wait and you can get a 1-6 in the $800 range (SWFA group buy) or you'll at least be able to pickup some 1-4's cheap in the used area.

I have no experience with it yet, bit I am looking heavily at the PST 1-4. The mil/mil platform made it a huge contender for me, and Vortex is a great company to deal with.

i am in the same boat, also looking at the vortex viper pst 1-4x mil/mil illuminated uncapped.

but like mentioned above, they have been showing a lot of 1-6x's; and from what i have read you need 1x magnification per 100m. so for 600m you should buy a 6x (if what i read is true).

thanks for the responses... I just really checked out the thread on the SWFA SS 1-6 and Im sold on it! I will wait for it's release and a group buy!

I have the Viper PST 1-4 and really like it. Mind you I've only used it to 100yds, but it's really clear and rock solid. Everyone I passed the AR to liked it as well. Illuminated recticle a plus.

i like that vortex viper pst, the burris xtr is pretty nice too, i've shot is a good bit and it works well. i'm playing with the meopta 1-4 with the 556 bdc in it, and so far i really like it a lot. let me know if you have any questions.

I have the millet DMR 1-4x24 or something like that, pais a little over $200 for it. It is made in china so glass is not the greatest but pretty decent, I shoot it from 25 yds to 620 yds and the results were acceptable for the money spent.
