Ive got glass to put on two different rifle projects I want to get wrapped up, both are 16” MSR one in 223 and the other 308. I was going to run the 1-6 on the 223 and the 1-8 on the 308 but I wondering if it should be the other way around, since the 223 will most likely end up being the work horse of the two.

Quite of few on youtube usually a big ass budge produced which looks like it would break some bones. They say the 556 is better for penetration due to its velocity but I think the 308 has more knock down power.

First, It depends on the glass. Whichever scope is more durable should go on the 308.

Ones a Riton X7 1-8 and the other is a Burris RT6, both should be able to take the abuse from the 308 without much of an issue.

I had a 1-8.5 on my 308. I upgraded to a Vortex Gen III 1-10. It us well worth it for when you really want to stretch it out.

i highly doubt your going to get very many responses from people with those same scopes facing your delima... shut up and shoot lol
half the fun is experimenting
try them out on each rifle and see what works for you. then report back to us haha that Riton looks especially interesting i have not heard of them
before.
