Rifle Scopes 1" Diameter scope?

I just bought a Remington 700 SPS Varmint tonight and it came with a DEDNUTZ 20700 base/rings. This is a one piece set that has 1" rings. I can't change the rings unless I replace the entire thing.

So my question is this...I need to buy a scope and I'm not really sure how to find one that will fit in the 1" rings. This is my first long range bolt rifle so I'd like to keep costs down for now and upgrade as I go. How hard is it to find a scope that will fit this?

If there is a decent one out there can anyone provide me with a link or a way to search out a 1" scope?

Thanks!

Re: 1" Diameter scope?

You say you're looking to shoot long range, but how far? The scope roggom linked to only has 56moa total travel, and you have a flat base giving you ~28 moa elevation available, and that's best case scenario. That will limit you, assuming you have a .308, to less than 900yds depending on your environmental conditions and more realistically less than 800yds.

I recommend you shift over to a different base now, one that has 20moa built in and is 30mm, rather than buying something that won't let you shoot within the effective range of your weapon and ammunition. The 1" tubes are just too limited in travel for long range shooting.

+1. Ditch the DNZ. Don't limit yourself when it's so easy just to change the base out. Grab yourself a Talley 20moa base and a decent 30mm scope with a fair amount of adjustment and get out and shoot.
