So I think I've succeeded in screwing up my 10/22 but good. Last week it got dropped at the house and landed at an angle on the top of the muzzle. I checked everything out and couldn't find any damage so I didn't think anything more of it. Then yesterday I went to the range for a little rimfire practice and the rifle's shooting so far low I couldn't even zero my scope. Like three and a half FEET low at fifty yards from my old zero. I took everything apart and checked things again and couldn't see any kind of damage. Then I put it back together and it's still shooting that far off at 50. I'm stumped. Is it possible that I could have bent the reciever itself out of true?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Removing the barrel is generally part of taking everything apart and putting it back together. So yeah, already did that.

Re: 10/22 issue

If you have already ruled out the scope, it's likely that receiver may be your issue.

You may also want to try to rule out your scope base and rings.

Any damage to the muzzle crown?

What type of barrel are you running?

Sorry to hear about your experience. Please keep us posted on what you find out.

Re: 10/22 issue

I agree with checking into the rings/base next.

You could also look at the v-block to ensure that the barrel was re-installed correctly.

Unfortunatly if it's not the rings/base or v-block then G.Ruff is probably right and your receiver is whacked.

Re: 10/22 issue

Yeah I double checked the base, and the rings were changed out with the scope.

The barrel appears to be fine. There's certainly no visible damage anywhere. It's just a $99 Adams and Bennett, but damn does it shoot.

Well I guess I'll have to order up a replacement receiver. I think I might spring for a Nodak Spud this time around. They look pretty nice. Any thoughts there?

I appreciate all the help guys.
