Had Tim @ Hangingtreearmory.com do a little barrel work for me. Chopped it back to 16", threaded, and set the front sight boss back. Also hit it with a bead blaster.

I also installed some 77/22 sights, as they are a bit taller. Don't know why Ruger makes the 10/22 sights so low.

Looks good, I also plan on having mine cut back and threaded like you did. I like the idea of the new sights as well. Any plans on a new stock? I was thinking maybe the boyds tacticool would be a fun project.

Re: 10/22 Takedown 16" Threaded

Gonna stick with this stock for now. Wish they had rigged a compartment in the buttstock though. Lots of wasted space in there that could be used for possibles.

Stuck an AGP Arms folder on my TD today. Just a little filing to accommodate the locking block on the front and it's good to go. The AGP stock holds the rear of the receiver down just fine.

Cut/Crown, setback the sight, thread and bead blast: $75 including return shipping. Sights from Brownells were about $25.

Mine won't be done for another two weeks. My smith had to order the sights so it should be done by the middle of June.

I am having the barrel left at 18" though. Just turning the barrel band down and sights installed behind the threadeding.

i just got mine today, i have a idea that i want to try to do, im gonna talk to someone about making the barrel integerally suppressed, i love this gun

Re: 10/22 Takedown 16" Threaded

Not a fan of integral suppressors unless you can break them down for cleaning. 22's are nasty.

So that is the take-down model? I can't even see the part line in the stock.

Tag!

This is slick! Forwarding a link to a few buddies who are gonna love this.

If I could figure out how to put a scout rail on one I would be all over one of these but with that folder I may just cave in.

Very nice.

I've just put together what I'm calling a backpacker/survival rifle. Its a 10/22 with a Butler Creek folding stock. The barrel, like yours, is a 16" threaded barrel with the sight base moved back. I've since installed a set of Nodak Spud sights (rear has the integral rail) and a Bushnell TRS-25. Its still a little heavier than I'd like, but it should be handy. Still waiting for some less humid days here so I can strip it down and do some Duracoating.
