I know there has been a bunch of topics on this subject, but i'm looking to start upgrading this 10 FP-SR i picked up a few weeks ago. There is nothing really wrong with it, the gun shoots amazingly well for being an out of the box rifle with a scope and a bipod.

But i would like to start looking into some upgrades for it, and i was just wondering what would you all suggest be the starting point? My initial thoughts were to upgrade the stock with a B&C Medalist in the black with red web, DBM addition with some 10 round magazines, and then i do not know what to do from there.

I'm working on a budget and would just be doing this step by step, so i guess the real question is, is the stock and DBM upgrade a good place to start or should i be looking at spending that initial investment on something else?

Well thanks for any advice you can give.

Edit: Little more information, i would like to start getting into some kind of competitions. So this is what this .223 is going to be used for if i can find local competitions with good people to learn at.

A bottom metal swap would be alright, but to be honest Ive shot it mostly single loading up to this point.

Re: 10 FP-SR Upgrades

i have a stockade stock ; their bottom metal; bolt knob cheek rest and bolt bearing. great quality; slow turn around. mcrees has drop in stocks on sale they have great reviews. i will wait the 4+ months on the stockade. i ordered one today for a 12 bvss. i also sent him the factory stock. he is going to put the bottom metal and cheek rest on it for 50$ + parts. i can then play with most of the goodies while i wait for the new stock. when the new stock arrives i will swap over the parts. (7 days to install the parts on my factory stock)

have the factory tricked out for a few hundred and then save for a new stock. b&&c stocks are ok. i have one on an abolt. should have saved for better.
