I am shooting a 223 Remington with 52 - 55 grain bullets at 100 yards most of the time, some times at 200, and rarely at 300. Would you use a 0 MOA or 10 MOA scope base? I am thinking 0 is fine for the purposes shown.

I'd get the slanted base. Cost the same, still lets you shoot at your current distances, and lets you shoot farther if the chance arises.

The optical people would say the reason for the base is to keep your optic nearer to the center of its adjustment range where it will perform the best.

So zero would be the answer.

If you wanted to push to 700 or so that would be the time to do the 20.
