100 posts for WTB forum?

I totally understand the 100 posts needed prior to being able to post something up for sale, but is it necessary for that same restriction in the Want To Buy forum?

I was going to post a WTB thread for a Savage Target Action and I was surprised to see that I couldn't (I only have 68 posts to date). I think I have been a member for a couple months now and not making fluff posts to boost my post count. Guess I just don't see the harm in allowing newer members to post a WTB add.

Maybe it's just a difficult programming issue and the 100 post count is a blanket thing for the whole classifieds forum set.

I believe this may be seen as a way of trying to get around the rules....I would definitely delete the description of the rifle your looking for to avoid being banned...

Its nice to know a little about the character of the people you deal with. Sometimes you can tell a lot about a person when reviewing their post.

It's a combination of ease of programming but also it used to not be that way, then too many people with less than 100 posts were using the WTT / WTB to get around the rule.

They couldn't post in the For Sale section so they used the WTB area because it worked for them... hence the rule change. I understand it hurts some people but it makes life for us much easier as we were constantly chasing people out of there.

Absolutely. That is why I am totally on board with the 100 post count for selling. Also makes it easier to trust buying something from someone when they've been around the forum long enough. Just seems like 100 posts to want to <span style="text-decoration: underline">buy</span> something is a little stiff. I shoot silhouette competition so while I can contribute to some threads I probably spend 99% of my time on here just soaking up knowledge. So, my post count is growing very slowly.

Ahhhh! that totally explains it. Thank you. I can get on board with that. Thank you! With the amount of traffic this forum has I can see where that would become a pain in the ass constantly having to monitor that.

I think you should have 100 posts before you can post anything in the for sale section. I know I bought stuff before I reached my 100 but I would have waited.
