Rem 700 5R .308,Nightforce rings,Warne Tactical 20 MOA tapered base, Nikon MonarchX 4-16x50 with 50 MOA adjustments. My choice with setup was so I could really have the option to shoot out to 1000. When the scope mounting was don, bore sighted and the armorer said I might be about 5 inches high at 100. I want to be able to have a one or two inch high zero at most without bottoming out the scope. I have not shot it yet,(waiting for the flurries to stop here in Tn.) If it indeed does shoot much higher than one or two inches, what are my options. Will be shooting 168 gr.Thanks guys,Jim

Re: 100 yard zero problem

If the scope bottoms out and you're still high at 100, then leave it like that and figure out what your zero range is. Will probably be somewhere between 200 and 250. Hold under for anything less than your zero range and figure your dopes from your zero for anything farther. This way you will be able to use all of the elevation that your scope has. It's also kind of a built in zero stop! Not really a bad situation to be in. I'm in the same situation with my Savage 10FP.
