Re: 1000 yard fun

Did well. Hits with my 7.62 ae at 1000 was a bit tough. We had 25-30 mph winds. Took a few shots, but got on! The 338 lapua, had no problem at all at 1000

I was shooting a .308Win, and we couldn't see the hits on a 12" diameter steel plate very well due to mirage and wind shaking the spotting scope. I thought I was missing, turned out I was hitting pretty well.

My bud shot his .50BMG, hit on the 4th round and knocked the target stand over, ending our day. I had something like 72" of wind to dope, and I think he had half that. Those high BC bullets are quite an advantage in the wind.

It's addicting, isn't it? I gotta get back out...

Nice place, isn't it. My second home. Looks like you had some fun. Did you have a radio system? I shot last week and in the back of the Gator I found a few radio's and a couple of tripods. It was raining my day and put these items in the paint can chest for safe keeping, figured these items might be better in a dry environment. Might see you there someday.
