I've been reading every post I could find on laser rangefinders but have not run across the answer to a question I have. Has anyone, using a laser rangefinder, been able to consistently get accurate readings at 1000 yards or beyond on a non-reflective small target such as a groundhog? I know the Bausch & Lomb 1918, the Barr & Stroud and Wild Optical units can do this, but I haven't seen a post that verifies a laser unit can do this.

Re: 1000 Yard Groundhogs & Laser Rangefinders

I have the Swarovski rangefinder and just got the Zeiss Victory RF 10x45. They will both range objects such as tress, bushes and rocks over 1000 yards away. As for ranging a actual groundhog at that range will be kinda hard. It is hard to pin poing an object that small at that range with them. But you won't have a problem ranging something next to it.
