How fast have your guys pushed a 100gr Nosler BT in a Grendel family AR? By family i mean SAAMI Grendel or 264 LBC? What powder, baarel and COAL? Only loads that are considered safe please without presure signs.

Let's see:

We have TWO reloading forums here on SH for you know, Reloading questions like you just asked. They can be found here: Sniper's Hide Reloading and here Sniper's Hide Reloading Depot

A quick search of those two forums yield over 300 threads on the 6.5 Grendel alone.

There is also a 6.5 Grendel Reloading Forum found here: 6.5 Grendel Ammunition & Reloading Not part of Sniper's Hide but it is a dedicated Grendel Site

Nosler also has load data for their bullets found here: 6.5 Grendel ? Nosler

Hodgdon also has a reloading page with data just for the 6.5 Grendel with the 100gr Nosler BT. It can be found here: Take Aim at Rifle Reloading Data | Hodgdon Reloading

Even if somebody spoon fed you their data any load that is safe and pressure free in their rifle, it may not be in yours. The best way is to read, and understand what works from a reliable source like Hodgdon, or Nosler and work up your own load from below.

Have a sparkling evening Sir....

from 2007- 28.5gr 10x, CCI 450 primers, Lapua brass COAL 2.3" using PRI 6.8 mags =2830fps 20" 5R barrel producing 1/2 MOA. 6.5 Banshee which is similar to a 264LBC but slightly shorter freebore. Same chamber used to produce our barrels last year(2013) 10x is too fast for 123gr bullets but works great with 100gr and less, 100 Lapua Scenars shot very well with the same load.

The 100gr nosler is pretty short to load to 2.3in don't you think? Did you crimp? I'm at over 3000fps with 30.4gr of H335 loaded to 2.23in with a 24in Grendel II barrel from midwayusa.

No it's perfect, top of boat tail is at the bottom of the neck. I don't crimp any accuracy loads, only 3 gun or stash ammo. An extra 4" will gain 100fps so it sounds close. This was my accuracy load not the fastest. One I could sit there and put 10 in a 1/2" time after time.

I was puzzled about these 3000fps reading with nice groups. The same load I developed for my SAAMI chambered 24in AR Stoner last year. I was getting 2875fps with that barrel but for some reason this new throat is really pushing them out fast. Temp was in the mid 70s an elevation was at 3200ft. Shooting from the shade so ammo was not exposed to the sun to heat up. Primers were picture perfect.
