Imagine drinking somebody else's whiskey, 52 bottles of it, to be precise, and running up a $102,400 bar tab.
It turns out that someone bought an old mansion, discovered nine cases of 100 year old hootch hidden in the walls and under the staircase, and then failed to make their resident caretaker understand that the bar was NOT open.
The cops have apparently pinned it on the caretaker because his DNA was discovered all over the empty bottles of 1912-bottled rye whiskey whose value had been estimated by a NYC auction house of rare and vintage spirits.
