I have had an issue with my custom 1911 shooting factory loads. Quick weapon description:

Gov. 1911, no bushing Schuemann barrel with BP Technology muzzle brake, Caspian frame and slide.

When I shoot HSM 180gr ammo and other similar production ammo the weapon will not function properly. Most of the time I will have to "hand cock" the slide in order to chamber the next round. I removed the recoil spring and went with a 9mm spring, this allowed the slide to travel all the way to the rear but then I could tell it was sluggish when chambering the next round. I understand that the 1911 is a recoil operated weapon and the muzzle brake has some to do with the problem.

I started hand loading at the minimum powder charge per the manual, put the original recoil spring back in, and it funtioned properly. This tells me the production rounds are far less powerful.

My question is does anybody know of any production 10mm ammo provider that loads "hot" rounds?

Check with ChadTRG on here. I know he has advertised full strength 10mm rounds lately and has a variety of bullet offerings. I plan to get some from him to test in the near future, and a major plus his prices are very good.
