Hello everyone.
I am about to purchase the Hawke sidewinder tactical scope to put on top of my Remy 700 .30-06. I will be using it mostly for hunting and long range target shooting. I can't decide between the 4.5-14x42 with 10x mil dot ranging or the 6.5-20x42 with 20x mil dot ranging. Is the 20x to powerful for ranging close up, say 100 yrds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 20x would be easier to be more precise but both would work. Read as much as you can from others experiences with whatever scope you decide to go with. Are you set on a SFP reticle? Have you taken a look at the Vortex Viper PST?
