11.25 Twist?

I bought a broughton 308 barrel what would be heaviest i could stabilize with a 11.25 twist, i have a bunch of 190 smk's i would like to shoot.

You will be able to stabilize 190 smk efficiently. I calculated a stability factor of 2.43 for the 190 SMK. I think anything above 1 is considered stable.

That twist is optimized for the SMK 175's...The 175 Berger OTMs are stable subsonic with 11.25. Just shoot em' and find out if they group, if I were building a rifle for 190's I'd roll with a 10 twist...

I have stabilized the 190 SMK in a 12 twist 308.
You should not have any trouble with them in the 11.25 twist.

I've shot Berger 190gr VLD from my 1 in 11.25" twist without problems.
