Just got this home the other day. Now this is my 1st bolt action so I'm new to this family. But not new to guns.
I own hand guns, shot guns and ar's but don't know much about bolt actions. I do know its a 308 with the bull barrel and accu-trigger; oh, and that have been wanting one for a while now.
Now I just need advice on where to go with her now as far as chassis and a few other things.
Also don't find much info on the 11vt at all...... Any info to share on her??

Start reading..... For hours at a time. Nobody but you is going to know what you want. Your rifle is personal to you. Read some more. Search. It is a good rifle and a good beginning.

Base, rings and a better scope .... burn a lot of ammo.

Yep, better glass is step one for that rifle. I have one in .223 and its bone stock other than good glass and I have been very impressed with it. Its a special run for Dicks sporting goods so there are a few differences from Savages standard offerings but like others have said start reading and start shooting before you decide to start swapping parts.

Good starting info. Been reading here and there but still trying to learn about the basics of the 308, now I got a few hundred rounds of ammo already, just need to find the time to go and get out for some trigger time.
As for the ammo I got different types and grains to see what they feel like. Don't know if i will know the differences from the dicks special edition to the standard savage, but it was just a great price for a decent bolt action.

Also take the tags off:D

I'd buy a nice SWFA fixed power scope or bushnell 10x40 scope for now. Get a lot of trigger time in also bed the action and scope base when you get a new one. Get a 20MOA base.

Lol.....Remove the tags.:D.... Well your in luck, they are gone.....
Not to familiar with how to bed the action and scope base, could you fill me in on that.
Also what is a 20MOA base? Now I've heard of something about that but not sure what that means.

Don't worry about bedding the action into plastic stock.
20MOA base - means that there will a 20 minute of angle incline (pointing down) built into the base. That brings the 100 yard zero adjustments closer to the bottom of the range of the scope, which in turn lets you dial it "UP" for longer distances.

^^^^^^^^what he said. Didn't realize the stock was a plastic one!
