Movie Theater 12 Strong

I will go see it but the Special Forces community is less than thrilled that SEALs were used as film advisors instead of Green Berets. May still be a cool movie and it's nice to see some SF coverage in the movies again instead of everything being SEAL-centric.

Group guys I know tend to stay out of the public eye/consult . Not a lot of SF movies, and I think they like it like that. Still, Horse Soldiers was excellent as was Masters of Chaos, Lions of Kandahar, The Only Thing With Dying For and several other book that have been written about some of the shit over the last 17 years. All could be great movies if done right.

I'll go see it, but I'm prepared to be pissed.

I read the book quite some time ago. It's a very good read and anyone going to see the movie would be well served reading the book beforehand.

What makes the story amazing, is the rapidity with which CIA/SF is able to provide the Northern Alliance with logistical and air support as well as doing so while adapting to the Alliance's use of horses for both movement and actually mounted warfare. It will be interesting to see if Gen. Dostum is given credit for his significant influence on the success of the mission,

Agree, this mother fuker needs to be sent to canada or mexico, if i ever meet him he will get a ass kicking. that mfer.not one cent from me.

here is exactly what the pole smoking sum bitch had to say about us Americans.

"There's a lot of old people who need to realize they've had a nice life, and it's time for them to move on because they're the ones who go out and vote for these assholes. If you look at the young people, between 18 and 25, if it was up to them, Hillary [Clinton] would have been president. No offense to the seniors out there. My mom's a senior citizen. But if you're voting for Trump, it's time for the urn."[SUP][37][/SUP][SUP][38][/SUP]

Wont see it on the basis that Michael Shannon is douche nozzle. Going so far as to tell Trump supporters "It’s Their Time to Die Now". So yeah hope his career crumbles.

Enjoyed the movie, understanding that it was a movie and not a documentary. Excellent portrayal of the challenges of "establishing rapport" with the "G-chief." Brought back memories of Robin Sage...

I enjoyed it... but too much CGI and unreal action riding through tanks never missing with machine guns. Yes, they did do a 'cavalry charge...' but not quite a Rambo moment... Yup... a movie.

The sad part is that the real story of 595, the Triple Nickel and Texas... is far better than any movie. But would be a suspense thriller, not an action shoot-em-up.

On the movie itself... I liked seeing the Mexican guy from Shooter in another good role. I like that guy. Shame that they gave the role of the grizzled old team sergeant to a leftist rump ranger. But, hey, it's a movie.

Worth seeing... Good clean escape from reality. Even the reality of the operation.

Cheers,

Sirhr
