Don’t wish a fatal confrontation on anyone but this boy comported himself like a man and did the hard thing .
I hope his support system reenforces that he did the right thing and I hope he sleeps well and the scars this leaves heal quickly.

I don't want to bicker with you and I understand what you've said, but...
It wasn't unfortunate, it was very fortunate that he acted like a man. He did a good job and I hope everyone around him is saying so. At 13, our youngsters can really pull off some very mature stuff, if encouraged so.
All youth at 13 should be acting like young adults, handling much more responsibility than they are. I congratulate this 13 year old, not because he shot the shit out of someone who deserved it, but because he used all available means to protect his mom.
This is why laws mandating guns be locked up are bullshit
Hopefully the kid will be left alone and allowed to live his life in peace and not be harassed from the Left and Right like Kyle Rittenhouse is.
