Buddy sent me some 142SMK's to try on my 6.5CM.

From what my Hornady OAL guage is telling me, going to have a minimum jump of .072 to keep the bearing surface on the neck. AM I wasting my time working up a load up with that much jump?

Thanks

Ya' that is a long jump. I was surprised as well. Using OAL guage, came up with 2.887 OAL with the SMK's. The top of the boat-tail is well inside the neck.

Guessing the boat-tail at .220?, will be loading at 2.815. I'll give Sierra a call tomorrow to get the exact dimension on the boat-tail.

140amax measured 2.840, 139 Scenar 2.820. Load both of these with a .015 jump, both very accurate.

Are you shooting a 6.5CM?
