In my initial load dev for my 6.5-284 Norma, i noticed my bullet seater (Hornady) flattens the plastic tips slightly. Compromising the BC. Anybody else have this issue?
Will this be an issue with the Forster micrometer seating did in 6.5 Creedmoor? I’ve got all the gear and components for loading for my JHC when it arrives, but never considered this.

It shouldnt be but it always pays to check. Pull the stem out and see if the bullet seats evenly around the ogive as it should or if the tip bottoms out first and it can rock around in the stem.

Depends how old your ultramicrometer die is. The old ones didn’t have a seating stem that was contoured for VLD bullets. The newer ones have a different stem that works really well with VLDs. You can get a replacement stem for $10 from Forster.

Thanx. I got mine a few months ago after waiting on back order for months. Figuring I have the new 'improved' version. Oh. Good to know I can order a replacement stem if I ever need to. lg
