Looking for ideas for powder and loads to run in a 20 inch 6.5 Creedmoor shooting the 147 ELDm and 140 Berger VLD. Maybe the 130 VLD.

After years of 40.5 grains of h4350 and any 140 projectile I just switched to h4831sc and 147 eldm. 44.5 is getting me 2760 fps and zero pressure signs. Gun is a rpr gen 1. It's worth a try imho.

I'm running a 20 inch 260. And 44 grains even of H4350 is getting me great results. I would back off a couple grains in a creedmoor but maybe start around 40 and work up.

Nice to know. Are you using the 147s?

I have heard the 6.5 can do a little better in short barrels than the 260 for some reason. But, I bet any difference is negligible.

I have some IMR, close burn rate. I will try that and switch to H if it looks promising. I am liking the idea of the 147. Normally I just run a nice heavy Berger and call it a day.

I've seen 2810fps with 140 smk and 2750 with 140 hpbt-m with 42.5gr reloder 17. Rifles a factory 20" savage fcp-sr. The smk was with a magnetospeed and the hpbt-m was with a labradar. The same charge weight worked out the best for the 143 eldx but I never had the chance to chronograph it.
