Hey , guys I’ve got a bergara B14 HMR 6.5 creedmoor and did a load work up and found a charge of H4350 that shoots really good. I’ve shot it out to 840 yards and have had good results. The only problem is that it’s only 39gr and travels at 2624 fps. I’m worried about performance past 840. This charge is the most accurate and I worked the load up to 42gr. I was getting pressure signs at 41.5.

Do o drop bullet weight to 140 eld-m to get more velocity? Does more velocity outweigh the high BC of the 147gr? Or just shoot what I have and dial accordingly? Thanks in advance!

Not saying to do anything different but what pressure signs were you getting at 41.5? I ran the 147 up to 42.2 with no pressure other than cratering but with my gun I read degree of crater over is there one or isn't there one. Granted this was in Hornady Brass which between my brass types has the highest case volume.
But if you are shooting around 1000 yards I'd just stick with what you have and dial out the difference.

From personal experience I can tell You the 147’s at 2600ish can do quite well at a mile.

You may also want to consider the 130 eldm’s.
I’m having good success with them in my 260 since I quit shooting the 147’s.

Heavy bolt lift amd extractor marks. Mind you I have found that this gun builds carbon easy and pressure climbs as well so I have to keep it clean or else accuracy falls off as well.

I was just this morning shoot my AIAX 26 in 1-7 twist and the 147 ELD-M shot great out to 1877. They are performing as good or better then the 153.3 bergers so I will stick with the 147's.
41.8 H-4350
210M's
Hornady brass
2790 AVG FPS

I'm slowly being pulled into the reloading game by 2 buddies.....said I wouldn't but dang if I'm not considering it! Question on a mile/subsonic. Do you find the ELD performs well enough though and past the transition to subsonic to still be useful or is it a scatter gun? I'm in a 6.5 HMR as well with 22" at sea level.....honestly if I thought I could get to a mile at sea level with a particular bullet/load I may do it.

I haven’t found a common 6.5 bullet yet that had any issues.
I’m usually at 1500-2500 elevation.

I shot 147's out to 1200yds with success at around 2640 fps.

They're a great bullet but I'm new to this stuff. I have some 140gr to try as well.

My 140 eldm load is around 2640 with 39.9 grains of rl-16. Started getting heavy bolt lift and ejector marks in the low 41 grain range. Had very similar results with h4350. This was in 2 different rifles. Went with rl-16 because accuracy was good and got a little more velocity.

My 147 load flies at 2800fps and consistent at 1000 yards( farthest I’ve tried). Need to go 1 mile and see how it performs.

I was able to try my 147 load at this distance before burning out the barrel. The target is a big steel buffalo so it wasn't that hard to impact at all. The next closer target is 18x24 at 1570 yards and no trouble hitting that as well.

I run 147 in a 20" ai at 2685 with 42.1gr rl16, I used 43.3gr h4350 to get 2730 in that rifle. No issues well past 1k. H4350 got tight earlier in spring so I bought 16lb of rl16, seems to work as a good replacement in creedmoors

5rds of the rl16 load, lapua brass had 15x firings on it.
