I'm looking to put together a night vision setup for after dark pig poppin. The rifle will most likely be a suppressed ar in 300 blk. Can you gurus give me some suggestions on what I should consider?

You won't get much in the way of a dedicated scope. You could go the NV monocular route, but they are very recoil sensitive. You should be OK if you stick with 5.56 or suppressed 300 Blackout. Still, $1,500 won't get you much more than a grade B tube in an older PVS-14 housing. You might be able to find a MUM-14 or envis with a slightly better tube at the top of your budget. You would still need to purchase a rail mount, but then you wouldn't be able to view anything when walking around. Best bet would be to use the monocular with head gear and then mount an IR laser to your rail for aiming.
Talk to Delta 4-3 on here. He showed me an Armasight Nemesis 4x in White Phosphor. Was it as clear as my gen 3 PVS14s? No. For $1,400, it is the best bang for the buck NV unit I've ever seen. Liked it so much, I bought one and then bought another for my Dad. Drop another $100 on a Streamlight SuperTac IR, and you're good to go on no moon, overcast nights out to a minimum of 200 yards. Zero hesitation in recommending this scope or dealing with Delta 4-3. I might be wrong, but I think he's posted a grantee that if you buy something from him and don't like it, he'll but it back, but check with him on the terms.
Thank you. To the OP, the M845 is truly a battle proven, US made with American made L3 tube that has incredible resolution for a Gen 2. This scope is proven and reliable and has been out there for years. One of our customers just sent us this racking up the Yote wall with his M845's. Night Vision Scopes ? Catalog Categories ? My first NV device was a pulsar N550. I remember having to constantly mess with the adjustments on it and it would basically shut down after one shot from a 308. The image quality was also lacking in my experience for a $1,500 NV device. Overall it felt cheap and gimmicky so I sent it back. In my opinion, you will be much more satisfied with an M845 or Nemesis with a decent illuminator. Personally, I like 4x magnification at 100 yards a lot more than 1x when hunting. However, 1x is probably better if most of your shots are at 50 yards with multiple pigs, etc.

+1 on the M845. They have a 2MOA red dot reticle, which makes it an extremely easy to use scope, especially when shooting at animals on the run.
I had the Pulsar 550 for awhile, it was okay. Mine definitely did not flake out after a single round from a 308. If you get a Pulsar, spend the money on a good illuminator. On the Pulsar, the "one shot zero" is a gimmick, and the reticle selection wasn't impressive when I owned one, and the battery life was an issue without an external power pack. Also, be aware the gray, bright screen tends to kill night vision with that eye for awhile after you come off the scope.

I'm kinda thinking 4x would better suit what I want to do with the rifle. Would the armasight be my best bet?
Don't waste your time with digital or gen 1. For your budget the M845 is the way to go. I've had both the gen 2 and gen 3 versions. The gen2 with a torch pro will serve you well.
