I am looking to change my load. I have been using Ar-Comp and 175gr SMK but now I want to change to 155 Palma 2156. My question is what powder/powders should I try for this. I will be shooting this in F Class as well as shooting steel out to 850. I will need to get atleast 2900fps out of a 22" barrel. I am not interested in Varget but I would like temp stability. I have been looking at AR-Comp, CFE223, and Pro2000MR. Any other ideas, suggestions, or personal tests you would like to share would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Not sure you can get that velocity with a 22" barrel but IMR 8208 XBR is a really good powder choice for the 155's. I've burned several pounds of it with 2156's.

Re: 155gr Sierra Palma Powder

I am not sure what the fps out of a 22" barrel would be but after trying 6 different powders in my 155/308 load I settled on Varget. The last three 5 shoot groups @ 1000 yards were from 7.5 - 9.7". Which for a .308 I think is pretty good. They were also centered up on the target.
Varget gets my vote for all my 155/.308 loads.

+1. 8208 is a great powder for 155's, I was pushing the 2156's at 2890 out of a 20" Rock barrel. Great accuracy.

Tagging for interest. I'm getting ready to try the 155.5 Bergers and didn't know where to start with powder. Would you guys mind also posting the load?

Re: 155gr Sierra Palma Powder

My best results were with 46.4 grs. Varget/Fed 210M primer. Your results may vary so start low & work up. Barrels are individuals as in a friends barrel needs 47.5grs. Varget to make his 155.5 Fullbore Bergers work.
