Does anyone have any experience or opinions about a 18" .243?

I'm looking to do a shorter barreled rifle for my next build, just to do something different.

The purpose would be for shooting steel 800 yards and in. I would like to shoot the 115 DTACs. Am I missing any info?

Would I be wasting my time, or would a 20" be a bit more feasible? I did a search, but it didn't yield much info, thanks.

This is my thread from last year. GAP should be done with my rifle anytime now.

he was getting some really good speeds with R17 and the 105 amax. Might be worth contacting him. </div></div>

that rifle is sweet. it now has a shark 6mm can, premier 3x15 and mcmillan stock. im getting over 2900 with Reloader 17, with a 105berger or amax its a deadly combination. ive shot the rifle out to 750. when i get more time i will take it to 1000
