18" (308) SS LMT barrel range report

Just got back from the range. I think this barrel is a keeper. The only optics I have is a Tall-H red dot horseshoe 3.5x Acog. Even with the low power optics and Crap-Tactical ammo I had I was able to shoot under an inch. The 10 shot group was at 50 yards after I got my new barrel sighted in. The 3 shot group was at 100 yards with the same el-cheapo American tactical ammo 150g. I was surprised as hell at how well the ammo shot as it would only hold 4-6 inch groups out of the chrome 16 inch barrel.

Im guesssing that if I had some decent handloads and a 15x nightforce this barrel would do under .75 all day.

Its near impossible to shoot small groups with a horseshoe dot Acog.

That does look promising.

I have found that if the shooter is up to it, my barrel easily outshoots me.

Definitely looks like a winner there. The barrel type sure does make a difference. Get some match ammo and really see what it can do!

Also remember that these are combat guns and not bench rest guns. They weren't built for shooting clover leafs on paper. Any of the above groups work for why the gun was built.

Looks real promising. Waitin on the 20" SS for mine. So when are ya gettin that Nightforce???
