18 inch 223 barrel?

Will 16 or 18 Inch custom barrel in 223 get me out to 6 or 700 yds using 75 gr A-Max in bolt rifle.I have been shooting a 20 inch barrel with good results and would like to go shorter if it will get er done.

using rl-15 or varget i have been to 1k with a 223 and a 77 gr smk i believe the 75 amax has a higher bc so 700 should be no problem with a 16 or 18 barrel

I remember maybe fifteen years ago Bill Wylde made some 10" and 14" fast-twist barreled .223's that shot the heavies very, very well out to 600.

What kind of velocity can one expect from said 16-18 inch barrel?
I'm getting 2830 from my 20" .223 with 75 Amax's
