i recently aquired a 18 in 243. i am planning on running 105amax out of the 8 twist barrel. im wondering if anyone has reloaded for a short barrel 243. im thinking of trying h4350 not sure how it will perform with a 18 inch barrel.

+1 to what sobr said i've been wondering how a 18" .243 would perform. I haven't run any match bullets through our youth model, but my father has shot nosler 100gr partitions and 100gr SSTs both on varget and both shot extremely well. For alot of the .308 class cartridges varget seems to work, i've had good luck in my .308 and .260.

I have a 600 remmy 18 in barrel. I get 2830 with a 105 amax and 41 gr of RL-17. That load was the first I tried w/ RL17and it shot well, so I cant tell you how much more room I have before it tops out. I have to admit RL17 and barrel life concerns me a bit, but time will tell

reloader 17 was another though with the h4350. im sure i would get the most velocity with the reloader 17. this is a varmint rifle. so im not to worried about barrel life on this one.

I tested reloaded 17 and 105 amax bullets. Simply awesome. I took it over 3000fps but the accuracy was at 2975. Out of an 18inch barrel it's a great little gun with good ballistics
