OH
I am wanting to purchase a Sig 1911 Tac Ops for my Osprey. Am looking at the Sig Tac Ops but undecided if I want to get a fullsize or carry. I like the carry size and it seems that I can handle it better but is there any advantage of having the 5" model versus the 4.3" size when running the suppressor?

Go with which ever one feels better to you. Each person is different, and has different size hands. I imagine that the shorter barrel would be less front heavy with the suppressor. Like the others, I also like a 5" barrel in a 1911, but thats just personal preference based on looks, and I like the longer sight radius..

This^. Still, you should shoot both and see what you like best.

I can hardly tell the difference. Is that weird?

All I see are sights on the target and all I feel is the crispness of the sear slipping off the hammer hooks.

From the shooter's perspective, it's pretty hard to tell the difference between one and the other. They all have the same grip and shoot the same.

This is my take as well. The Commander isn't nearly as comfortable for me to shoot as the full size. YMMV

Re: 1911 Full size or Carry?

A combat commander and commander aren't the same gun. A combat commander has a steel frame and is is hardly distinguishable from a full sized gun besides the 3/4" missing from the barrel and slide.

I, too, am a fan of the Commander sizes. Full-size frame retains mag capacity and the slightly shorter barrel seems to balance better and clear the holster a better for me. Plus, I like the aesthetics a bit more as well, but I never found a benefit or detriment to the longer barrel either.
