Here is my full custom Springfield Armory. The only thing SA is the frame and slide, and even they are heavily modified. I have almost 10K through her now, and haven't had one single bobble or hickup.

Colt Series 70 reissue. Totally gutted down to the frame and slide then filled with goodness. Finally, Melanized inside and out. 18,500 rounds. Outside of changing the recoil springs every 3K as preventative maintenance, no parts breakage. Third barrel with a Kart in it now.

I noticed you have a Commander LW too. I may be wrong but those were mid-1960 model Colts, correct ?
I really love mine as it was my Dad's yet I'm not looking to modify it to the extent you did (which by the way is awesome).
However, I would like to swap out the plastic grips for something really nice like polished rosewood.
Could you or anyone else suggest where I could find what I'm looking for ?

I picked this Dan Wesson up yesterday. Went in looking for a set of 1 inch rings, came out w/ an empty wallet.

My 70 Series (or Pre 80's series) Combat Commander in 9mm. I would like to have some work done to it, but I'm told this is a somewhat rare gun so I'm undecided if I want to alter it from the factory original shape it's in now.

250 rnds at 15 yrds, not a hiccup. I think I'll keep her. I need more range time.
