I was looking at a Colt Rail Gun at a local shop and almost got it except for its a Series 80. I guess im a bit of a traditionalist and just like the Series 70 better. My question is can a Series 80 be converted to a Series 70 without a new slide?

Thats kinda what i figured. I just like the ease of take down and the feel of a series 70 better. I knew it would leave holes if I took the parts out. I just didnt know if it would still operate (I thought it should) or be as reliable.

Just remove the plunger and spring from the slide and put the block piece in the frame and it will be fine. Will work w/o issues. If you like the gun I wouldnt let that stop you because you cannot see any mods on the exterior.
